St.Albert-Sturgeon County Métis Local #1904 is a non-profit society and is supported by the Métis Nation of Alberta.

 

Métis Local #1904 was developed in 2016 as a means to recapture and
preserve the city’s rich Métis heritage. Métis Local #1904 represents the Elders, Youth, community and connection to culture. We are committed to the past and future generations; instilling in them pride for their heritage and culture.

Food Bank Donation

In 2020, the Métis Local 1904 announced a $1000 donation to the St. Albert Food Bank to support many local families, including our Métis families.

Becoming a District

YOUR LOCAL WILL BECOME YOUR DISTRICT

At our 2023 Annual General Meeting and at the Transition Committee Information Session the Métis Nation of Alberta assured our members that the Métis Locals will transition to the Districts of our Otipemisiwak Government.

Land Acknowledgement

The Métis Local acknowledges that our community of St. Albert and Sturgeon county resides in Treaty 6 Territory. The Métis Local honours the First Nations, our relatives, and their relationship to the land since time immemorial. We acknowledge the Inuit and their relationship to the north, their homeland. The Métis Local affirms our Indigenous title to our homeland, and we thank the creator for our connection to this land.
